Overall Description

Reporting directly to the Head of Professional Services, the Technical Architect will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems. As well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud.

The role includes managing a small team of Technical Analysts.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end solution crafting and solution architecture for new clouds systems, migrations and optimisations
  • Planning for and supporting service implementation, service transition, and service introduction activities including the appropriate change management services
  • Delivering technical leadership and architecture on our engagements
  • Working closely with the Sales Team, tailoring and crafting solution propositions¬†
  • Presenting alongside Sales our solution to customers; explaining the solution in detail and interpreting customer needs
  • The ability to answer deep technical inquiries on proposed and existing solutions
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in cloud computing across multiple streams
  • Develop technical road-maps for future Azure cloud implementations
  • Ensure security is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions

Skills and Experience

Qualifications
  • Preferably a certified Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-300, AZ-301)
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C or higher (or equivalent)
Experience and Knowledge
  • General skills (communication, questioning, problem solving)
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Basic knowledge of cloud hosting services, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services
  • Microsoft Windows-based networks and servers, including Active Directory
  • Ability to accurately test and diagnose problems in a systematic and logical manner prior to delivering projects to implementation
  • Ability to construct a UAT testing programme and deliver and test a working solution that meets the defined success criteria, handing over to the User Experience team where necessary
  • Ability to design robust and supportable solutions with low administration and helpdesk overhead
  • Ability to translate client requirements into a design of a productivity environment, working with the Platforms and User Experience teams to provide an end user experience that meets these requirements
  • High attention to detail, with an emphasis on providing a seamless, fuss-free but functionally rich end user experience to our clients
  • Knowledge of scripting and programming fundamentals
  • Cloud and Infrastructure Design
  • High level strategy and Cloud Adoption experience
  • Azure Security Center, Express Route, Key Vault, VNets etc
  • Azure Active Directory – Multi forest/Domain environment (consolidation required)
  • Hybrid Cloud environment experience
  • Hardware platforms, and their virtualised equivalents, eg: Hyper-V, VMWare
  • Migrations
  • Disaster Recovery, High Availability, Business Continuity
  • Microsoft client and server operating systems
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Experience of Exchange to Office 365 migrations
  • Office 365, and other Microsoft cloud products
  • Migrations to other cloud and non-cloud based productivity products
  • SQL Server
  • Active Directory
  • Networks
  • Linux server experience desirable
