Mark Hitchum, Head of IT

The Challenge

Following the Sports & Leisure Groups (SLG) decision to split the operations of PlayFootball and Roko, the business needed a go-forward solution for their health clubs to support their growth. The primary objective was to deliver a solution that would allow the clubs to trade effectively, resolve legacy technical debt, and provide a solid foundation for the future.

The Objectives

A requirement to support a base of 80 users between the company’s head office and 4 club locations, Roko Health Clubs strived to achieve a modern workplace, backed by a robust and well supported infrastructure to support the daily needs of the employees, which must be based in the cloud.

The Solution

Following a proven, structured, and standards-based approach to the build of a solid Microsoft 365 cloud native foundation for Roko, Centrality provided the business with its flagship Connect product.

Connect by Centrality provides best-in-class and highly secure, Windows 10/11 end user experience, which maximises the investment in Microsoft 365, to increase end user productivity and collaboration.

As part of the deployment, desktop and laptop endpoints were joined to Azure Active Directory via Autopilot and are now managed by Intune, leveraging the latest Microsoft Security Portfolio. All legacy build management technologies, including the existing on site IT infrastructure has been decommissioned as part of the transition. All Roko devices are kept fully up-to-date with the latest Microsoft security and feature updates, and are managed on an ongoing basis by Centrality’s UK-based Service Desk team on a 24 x7 basis

“Our staff trust that Centrality will resolve their issue.”

The Benefits

The deployment of Connect by Centrality to all user end-points has provided a secure, reliable, and futureproof fit-for-purpose solution that is designed around them.

Allowing the business’ users to have seamless access to data, files, and business applications, Roko have achieved an improved level of collaboration between club locations, a more robust and mature cyber security posture, and take full advantage of the capabilities within Microsoft 365.

“The deployment of Connect by Centrality has greatly reduced the number of reported issues. Their solution is both fit for today, but also scalable to meet the future expansion requirements we have.”
